Black Amethyst Geode with Amethyst Flower Formations – Uruguay, 2.345kg

Uruguay Black Amethyst Geode with Natural Amethyst Flower Formations

A remarkable one-of-a-kind black amethyst geode from Uruguay, featuring an extraordinary combination of deep, almost-black sparkling druzy and naturally formed amethyst flower formations.

The interior of the geode is densely covered with countless tiny dark amethyst crystals, creating an intensely glittering surface that changes dramatically as the light moves across it. Against this dark background, clusters of soft lavender amethyst rise from the lower and outer sections of the geode, creating beautiful contrast and depth.

Most distinctive of all are the raised, flower-like crystal formations growing directly from the druzy surface. These natural rosette formations give the specimen an almost sculptural appearance and make it particularly unusual among Uruguayan amethyst pieces.

Presented upright on a custom black metal stand, this is a substantial 2.345kg statement mineral specimen designed to be appreciated both as a collector piece and as natural art.

You will receive the exact specimen shown in the photographs and video.

What Makes This Piece Special

Uruguayan amethyst is particularly admired for its rich colour and compact crystal formations, but this specimen has an unusually dramatic character. Its most striking features include:

  • exceptionally dark, densely sparkling amethyst druzy
  • strong contrast between near-black and pale lavender crystal growth
  • naturally formed amethyst flower and rosette formations
  • several different crystal textures within one specimen
  • a deep geode cavity that gives the piece substantial visual depth
  • polished outer edge framing the natural crystal interior
  • freestanding sculptural presentation on a custom stand
  • substantial 2.345kg display weight

From a distance, the dark interior gives the piece a bold, almost celestial appearance. Viewed closely, thousands of tiny quartz points catch the light while the larger lavender crystals and flower formations emerge from the surface. It is exactly the kind of specimen that reveals more detail the longer you look at it.

What Is Black Amethyst?

“Black amethyst” is a trade term used for exceptionally dark amethyst whose intense purple colour can appear charcoal, smoky-purple or almost black under certain lighting. It is still amethyst — the purple variety of quartz — rather than a separate mineral species. Under stronger lighting and at different angles, subtle purple tones become visible within the dark crystal surface.

Amethyst Flower Formation

The term amethyst flower describes clusters of quartz crystals that naturally grow in rounded, radiating or flower-like formations. Rather than being carved into a flower shape, the formations visible on this specimen developed naturally during the crystal’s geological formation. Their three-dimensional growth against the fine dark druzy background is one of the most unusual features of this particular piece.

A One-of-a-Kind Natural Specimen

Natural mineral specimens are never perfectly uniform. Small cavities, inclusions, colour zoning, uneven crystal growth, internal fractures, exposed matrix and irregular edges are all normal characteristics of naturally formed crystals and are part of what makes each specimen unique. The geode has been prepared and mounted for display while preserving its natural crystal formations.

Please examine all photographs and the video carefully before purchasing, as this is the exact piece you will receive.

Display & Care

Place on a stable, level surface capable of supporting its weight. When moving the piece, support the metal stand and specimen securely rather than lifting by individual crystal formations. Dust gently using a clean, soft brush. Avoid impacts, harsh chemical cleaners and prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight.

Traditional Crystal Meaning

In modern crystal traditions, amethyst is commonly associated with tranquillity, clarity and intuition. These associations come from spiritual and cultural traditions and are not intended as medical advice.
